Rangers and Wild Preview

Rangers:

Strength- Goal tending, as long at Lundquvist stays healthy, this will not be an issue for them Anti Raanta is a decent back up who can play 20-30 games

Weakness- Back edge defense (their top 4 are good) McDonagh, Yandle, Girardi and Staal are good, I have questions about Dan Boyle (age), Kevin Klein (consistency) and who will be their 7th man Raphael Diaz or Dylam Mcllrath

Scoring- This should not be an issue, with Zuccarelllo healthy, Nash is a top player,Brassard and Stepan can also score.

Questions- 1. Who replaces the retired Martin St. Louis? They have the depth so that should not be an issue, 2. Will Emerson Etem do good in replacing Carl Hagelin? This is to be determined.

Overall- 1st in the Metro 2nd in the East, other than Tampa the Rangers are the team to beat.

Rangers Foes:

1.  Penguins- The Pens will be good again, with Crosby and Malkin, they have Phil Kessel now and he will help them out, they will not be an easy team to beat as well.

Overall- 2nd in the Metro, 3rd in the East

2. Islanders-They kept the same team as last year, but, now have Boychuk and Leddy signed long term, they will be fun to watch as the young players will get better and Tavares is a star.

Overall- 5th in the Metro, 9th in the East (just on the outside, they end up 5th behind NYR, Penguins, Capitals and Blue Jackets)

3. Devils- A new era has begun with Ray Shero as the GM and new coach in John Hynes, they are  a younger team but, still have Patrick Elias around to help them out and also veterans Micheal Cammalleri, Travis Zajac and goalie Corey Schneider.

Overall- 7th in Metro, 14th in East

Wild:

Strength- Experience and Goaltending, they have the same nucleus together so they players know themselves well, with Parise, Suter,Koivu, and Pommnville. Devin Dubnyk finally gives them a number 1 goalie, something they did not have the last few seasons with Josh Harding and his MS issues, and injuries to Niklas Backstrom hurt them

Scoring- This also have been an issue, they have the players who can score, but, burying the puck has always been an issue.

Overall- 3rd in the Central and 5th in the West. (The experience gets them into the playoffs and maybe a 1st round win) The West ends up LA, Chicago, Anaheim, St. Louis, Minnesota , San Jose, Nashville with Colorado, Calgary or Vancouver battling for 8th,

Foes:

1.Blackhawks- They will be good with or without Kane, very deep team will be tough to beat.

Overall- 1st in the Central and 2nd in the West (Kings are 1st)

2. Blues- Same team as last year but, they are talented and will win games, I do question their goal tending though.

Overall- 2nd in the Central and 4th in the West
