NHL Thoughts 1/29

East:

1. The Islanders keep winning against top teams

2. Don’t look now but, the Red Wings are in 1st in the Atlantic and 2nd overall, who would have thought that?

3. The Canadiens have played well recently, they have that smart system that could win a series or 2

4. I think Tampa and their offense can go far in the playoffs, but, I am not sold on Ben Bishop  and I am starting to lean towards the Red Wings beating them in the 2nd round but, alot could change.

5. I would watch out for Boston they are due to make a move soon.

West:

1.The Ducks are the team to beat

2. I would not be shocked if the Predators lose in round 2 to the Blues ( in a 2nd rd 2-3 matchup)

3.I like the Blues alot, Brian Elliott is a darn good goalie and they could give the Blackhawks a hard time

4. even though I like the Blues, I still see the Blackhawks making a run with their experience

5. Right now I have a Hawks vs Blues Western Conference Final ( with the Pens vs Lightning in the East)

Note- I have the Pens vs Blackhawks for the cup with the Hawks winning in 7.

NHL All Star Break Thoughts 1/21

East-

1. Who would have guessed that the Islanders are a top team?

2. The Rangers are starting to his their stride and they could go far

3. Tampa I still feel will be in the Cup Finals

4. Pittsburgh is good but, can Fleury handle the playoffs well? recently he has not

5. I think the 8 teams that are in the top 8 will be in the playoffs, they will change positions but, I do not see anyone else making a move.

West:

1. This as usual is the power Conference

2. The Kings have been disappointing so far

3. When Rinne comes back the Preds will be tough, right now they are beatable

4. I still like the Blackhawks in the West

5. I expect the Kings to be in the playoffs and the Flames wont be in.

NHL Predictions 1/19-21

Monday:

8pm Avalanche at Blues NBCSN

Prediction- The Blues are hot right now, the Avs are decent, but the Blues are firing on all cylinders. Avs 2-4 Blues.

Tuesday:

730pm Penguins at Flyers NBCSN

Prediction- The Flyers have the talent, but, are not playing well, with Crosby and Malkin playing well the Pens win. Pens 4-1 Flyers

Wednesday:

8pm- Blackhawks at Penguins NBCSN

Prediction- This will be a good game, both teams can score, but, the Blackhawks’ defense is better. Blackhawks 3-2 Penguins
