NHL Breakdown West

Central:

1. The West is stronger than the East depth wise but even talent wise.

2. This is a 4 team race between, the Blackhawks,Wild, Avs and Blues

3. The Blackhawks are the experienced team.

4. The Wild signing Kuemper to a 2 year deal helps alot with him, Backstrom and Bryzgalov as well.

Pacific:

1. This is the Kings division to lose as they have the same team as last season

2. The Sharks will be good but, will playoff success happen?

3. The Ducks will be good as will the Canucks

4. This division has 2 of the worst teams, with the Flames and Oilers both being young.

Playoff teams: Kings, Hawks, Wild, Avs, Sharks, Blues, Canucks and Ducks

NHL Breakdown East

Atlantic:

1. This is a two team race between the Bruins and Lightning.

2. The Lightning have the better offense while the Bruins’ defense is better, the key is the better goalie and thats a toss up as Bishop has improved for the Bolts.

3. The Sabres are young but are going to be better than last season.

4. The Leafs could get the 8th seed, if things fall the right way.

5. The Sens and Habs are question marks, with Alfredsson retiring for the Sens and the Habs losing Gorges.

6. The Wings will be tough as always.

Metro:

1. This is the better division in the East, with the Pens, Rangers, Flyers and even the Islanders being good this season.

2. The Rangers are the favorites here, as long as they do not have major injuries they will win the Metropolitan.

3. The Pens will always be good as long as they have Crosby.

4. The Flyers are always competitive, the Islanders have good scoring and now have 2 good goalies in Jarslav Halak and Chad Johnson

5. The Devils are young and have question marks.

Playoff teams: Rangers, Lightning, Bruins, Penguins, Flyers, Red Wings, Islanders and Leafs

NY Rangers, NY Islanders, NJ Devils and Wild Preview

Rangers-

1. They have the same roster as last season, which leads to continuity, they did lose Brad Richards and Brian Boyle but they have  JT MIller , and added  Micheal Lambardi and Ryan Malone to the roster.

2. The defense corps is better by adding Dan Boyle to the mix.

3. Goaltending is very good with Lundquvist and Talbot

4. Prediction- 1st place in division and conference, but Tampa stuns them in the conference finals.

Islanders-

1. With Tavares healthy and the good young nucleus they could make a move.they added Mikhail Grabovski from the Leafs

2. The defense corps is the same with Calvin De Haan,Travis Harmonic and Radek Martinek.

3. The goaltending got a major upgrade with the additions of Jaroslav Halak and Chad Johnson

4. Prediction- 4th place in division and 1st round playoff exit to the Rangers.

Devils-

1. They do not have the talent they once did but still have Patrick Elias and Jaromir Jagr to lead them

2. The defense added Mike Komisarek to a young corps

3. The goaltending will rely on Corey Schneider and Scott Clemmson to lead them

4. Prediction- 8th in division

Wild-

1. They added Tomas Vanek to an already good forward group of Zach Parise and Mikka Koivu

2. The defense is good lead by Ryan Suter and Jonas Brodin

3. Goaltending is an issue with Josh Harding out for a few months with a broken foot, they have to rely on Niklas Backstrom and Ilya Brygalov in goal

4. Prediction- 3rd in division, they lose in round 1 to the Blackhawks.
